I am an Irish artist living in Dublin, Ireland.   I work in pen and ink and my paintings are inspired by nature, folklore, storytelling and all things magical. I love to draw outdoors in nature and I visit different locations for each new piece that I create. It might be a place by the sea, a forest, a heritage site - anywhere as long as it is outdoors and feels uplifting. Each place that I visit offers its own kind of inspiration.  I sit and draw from my imagination allowing the feel of my surroundings to flow into each piece. ​The finished drawing is completed with layers of ink either in my studio or in the garden if the weather is warm enough.
​Once the painting is finished I add a story, poem or a quotation to the piece. Finding the right story for each painting is an organic process. Sometimes the story relates to the time of year, sometimes it is inspired by books I have read, films I enjoyed, or it might be linked to the folklore of a particular place that I visited. Often the story can take a while to appear but eventually the right piece turns up for the finished painting. Then the whole process starts again and I look forward to  where my next drawing will take me........
