A new tiny pen and ink drawing that I just finished. It's called the Weaver Faery after the family of weaver birds that make the most incredible nests. She is a distant cousin of theirs. So here is the Weaver faery weaving in new ideas, new ways of thinking, and dreams not yet revealed - she weaves beyond the limitations of our reality. Before I made the Weaver Faery piece I had been finding it difficult to want to draw or paint anything. So I decided to try out some stop-motion again as this often helps when I am feeling stuck. This is one of the stop-motions I made. I tried out shadow stop motion using a light box and paper. I was thinking about what is feels like to be able to roam freely in nature whenever and wherever I want to, no restrictions in place and how good that feels.
A quick drawing I made yesterday after spending some time in St.Anne's garden allotments. I usually spend a few hours a week up at St.Anne's city farm helping out with the plants and veggies. The farm also has an allotment which is in the St. Anne's walled garden area. So I spent a a bit of time there planting out some leafy greens. It such a lovely space to spend time in. There's a very peaceful feeling there, a feeling of the land, nature and plants being cared for and loved. Some of the allotments are lovely and wild, some a bit more manicured but overall it's gorgeous. When I was leaving I remember thinking to myself that the place felt like it was full of nature spirits, happy ones at that, working together with humans.
