This faery is a helper and guide to blue-tits throughout the year.   She spends most of her time locating good foraging spots and safe nesting sites for them. When the wind is wild and it becomes dangerous for these tiny birds to venture out she guides them towards sheltered areas for safety. In Winter this faery shows blue-tits where peanuts, seeds and fat-balls have been left out for them in gardens if food becomes scarce. While she is known for helping out other members of this family like the coal-tit, long-tailed tit and great-tit, for some reason she just has a particular fondness for blue-tits. She loves their acrobatics at the top of the pine trees and she loves their little blue punk mo-hawk. Maybe this is why she adores them so much – they remind her of her own wild blue spiky hair and she likes that.

I recently started working from a small studio in the back of the garden.   This tiny urban garden is full of wildflowers, plants, small trees and most recently some froglets. I  have been looking after this space for a number of years and I adore it, especially in the Summer when it completely blossoms.  So when I discovered that I would be able to do my work from a studio in the garden I was thrilled.  I love spending time watching the birds from my window as they come and feed from the feeders in the trees.   I listen to their calls, chirps, gossiping and enjoy watching their antics and general carry-on.  So it was no surprise when this story about blue-tits came about, one of my favourite garden birds!
